Oh, I have good news my friends! I’m dusting off my keyboard, brushing up my online bargain hunting skills and getting ready to launch into the comprehensive investigation, planning and plotting of another international adventure.

Hurrah.

But, before I get carried away in my pre-planning euphoria, I would just like to acknowledge that yes, it’s been a while since I last wrote.

The past six or so months have been a flurry of working too hard, recovering from floods, studying after work, socialising, starting any endeavour that smells slightly creative…  while also giving this whole live-like-you-travel thing a go. Despite my sometimes-best attempts at finding this joy/fulfilment balance, I have watched myself thrash around like octopus on Ritalin before repeatedly slipping into the quagmire of mundane routine, which, of course, comes with some level of stress and the feeling of having your spontaneity and creativity being slowly smothered. Oh, such a happy prospect.

Anyway… I think it is important to note that my resolve to find balance in everyday routine has not waned. I understand life is not always going to be a travel adventure (and so I continue to set myself challenges in the name of the resistance). But, I have come to believe a key ingredient in all this life stuff is exactly what the books and wise folk have said all along… having a goal.

With that in mind, I would like to introduce you to my new goal: Norway, January 2012.

Please do. From my experience, travels are always more fun with a character along for the ride.
