Croatia lives in my memory as a pristine natural beauty and a nation of warm hospitality.
When running my not-so-short list of ‘favourite’ travel destinations , Croatia always seems to feature. And often, in moments of wishing I was far, far away, the mental images of Croatia sail into view, bringing with them a drifting kind of calm.
Here are some of my favourite Croatian destinations, as captured in photographs from my travels.

Oh how wonderful Dan! How are you enjoying it? Where else have you seen?
beautiful, truly beautiful. I had to forward this link to a friend who is in Croatia now (Zagreb). I’m sure she will appreciate it just as much.
Thanks Barbara!
Very nice pictures. Is there a city you like the most? I’ve just been to Pula and Rovinj yet. At the moment I’m thinking about returning either to Dubrovnik or to Zadar. Any recommendation?
Hi Moritz,
How wonderful.
I liked both Dubrovnik and Zadar – Dubrovnik for the glorious walls, nearby islands and cobbled alleys and Zadar for its sea organ steps, and a restaurant called Pet Bunora with delicous traditional dishes.
If I had to choose, I’d pick Dubrovnik for the ancient walls, even though it is much more touristy.
I’d love to hear which adventures you decide.
Happy travels,
Nic
Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks Cindy. Croatia really is a bit stunning.
Croatia was just endlessly surprising and quickly became one of my favorite countries. Plitvice Lakes is easily one of Europe’s most beautiful national parks, and Zagreb is a terrifically under-visited capital. Thanks for the post.
I agree! Thanks for reading. Nic
